Domi Safiya, a jungle house in the hills above Ahangama.
Safiya was built around the trees: a pool between palm and jackfruit, sun loungers on the lawn, monkeys on the railing in the morning and kingfishers crossing the water at dusk.
It sits about 3.5 km inland, ten quiet minutes from the coast. That’s the trade, and Damith bridges it: his tuk-tuk takes you down to Marshmallow Beach and back whenever you message. The garden is fully fenced, the house is on one level, and a crib and high chair are already there.
“I had a great stay in this lovely house. It's a fantastic place, in perfect condition, with everything you need - and it's in a great location too, peaceful and surrounded by nature, and the terrace, garden and pool are perfect for chilling out.”
Is the pool private?
Yes. The pool at Domi Safiya belongs to the house and the four guests in it, and the garden around it is fenced. There is no lifeguard, so children always have an adult with them at the pool.
Is Domi Safiya good for families?
It was made for it: two ensuite bedrooms, a single-level house with no stairs, a fenced garden, and a crib and high chair already in the house. Nishantha and Nadeeka are warm with children, and breakfast can be arranged by the pool.
How far is the beach?
Marshmallow Beach is about a ten-minute drive. Damith’s tuk-tuk is on call for the trip down and back, and scooters can be arranged if you hold the right permits.
Does Domi Casa have a pool?
No. Domi Casa is the walk-to-the-surf house, 450 metres from the beach. If a pool matters most, Domi Safiya is the house, and the two Kurunduwatta houses add pools from November 2026.
The pool is ready when you are.
